Howdy, folks! It's Saturday, which means it's time for another update from *Trumpeteer34

LIFE
So, last weekend I took a random trip home. I was supposed to work that Saturday, but I got a call from one of my managers around noon saying not to come in. I just thought I was being cut for the evening, but then he said that I had been suspended. Apparently, I had too many item voids while on register, and I was suspended for a day. Needless to say, I was pissed. What was worse was the fact that I was only getting 8 hours that week. How does one have 26 hours one week, and then 8 the next?

Well, I got off the phone and started packing my backpack. I stormed upstairs and told my brother what was going on, and then I left. I hadn't had a weekend off in nearly two months, so that was a nice change of pace. I just wish it hadn't been under those circumstances. My weekend home was nice, though. I got to see my little sister and Mum, so that was good. I've been thinking about finding another job, but I'm still kinda on the fence about that. If where I work now will give me CONSISTENT work hours, I'll stay there.

ANYWAY, yes. The insurance money came in for the carfire that happened back in July. I have a new camera now, and expect some photos when the sun decides to come back out. It's been raining/cloudy since last Tuesday. BAD weather...

I work four days next week: Sunday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, I want to say, but I have to double-check. School is going fine, I guess. I have another math project, which sucks, but oh well.

WRITING
So, I was laying in bed the other night, trying to fall asleep, when I was hit with this idea for another multi-chapter fanfiction. It is Batman-related, of course, but it is a little different from what I usually write. I'm still working on the outline for that and have even started sketching out scenes in my head (I have not posted those). I'll more than likely post the entire story (over time) on my fanfiction.net page, but I'm debating whether or not to post it on here. I'll post the first chapter, and then if there is ANY feedback, I'll post the rest. I realize this is an ART site, but the fanfics that I spend maybe a week on get more attention than the one I spent MONTHS on. It's quite the opposite on FF.net, but at least F&S gets the recognition I feel it deserves there.

Anyway, yeah. I have another one-shot in the works, too, but I'll see if it's any good by the time I finish it.

ART
I think I am over my art-funk! I was sketching until the wee hours of the morning this morning. I did that Mad Hatter piece, an art-trade, and that Gotham's Angels sketch all last night. I have an art-request to do, but let me say something before there is a possibility of more requests:

I don't usually do requests. The only time I draw stuff for other people is when we have a conversation about something and I'm suddenly motivated to do a piece related to that. THAT'S IT. Half the time, it's from really funny conversations that really lift my mood that day. Take the whole Billy Mays (RIP) thing a few months ago. Conversations.

That said, please don't ask for requests or trades anymore, guys. I already have a ton of ideas that I need to do, some already months behind. I'm sorry if I come across sounding kind of bitter, but I want to draw my own stuff (fanarts, I mean). My time is already strained enough as it is; let me draw what I want.

And I don't mean to sound ungrateful, either. I am honored that people like my art enough to ask for things, but if and when I do decide to start taking requests and art-trades, I'll post a journal. Thank you.

Now, I have been drawing Jervis Tetch A LOT again, so expect to see more of him. I have a crossover series to finish (Reefer Madness/Batman Villains) among other things. I have an Extra Credit assignment that I need to start. Art may be a little slow until I finish that EC assignment, but I don't think it will stop altogether.

As for photography, when the sun comes back out and I have some time, I'll take a walk around campus. Lord knows I've seen enough potential shots over the past few months. Look forward to that.

Well...I didn't mean for this journal to be me ranting about things...I apologize. If you've read this far, I thank you. I just kind of needed to get this stuff off my chest. I have to work a little later today, so I'd better go get in the mindset to do that.
